The Nancy Boy Corporation was founded by real-life brothers and fully accredited ‘nice guys’, David Hemphill and Robert Cutchens. Entrepeneurs and movie lovers at heart, David and Rob bring together brilliant creators telling diverse stories that reach a broad audience.
We're dedicated to making beautiful work with wonderful people. Fundamentally, we believe in the power of film to educate, cultivate empathy and change the world for the better.

David Hemphill
Partner - Creative Director
David oversees creative for Nancy Boy and its associated fund. His background is in ambitious and grass-roots story creation, collaborating with dynamic theater and film makers. He is also an award-winning actor with the voice of an angel. Previously he founded and led the growth of The Project [theatre] in Miami, and has produced an array of short films, music videos and commercials featured at film festivals around the country including Sundance, SXSW, Sidewalk and Los Angeles Cinefest. He received his Masters in Film from the University of Southern California.His thesis film, STEAM!, won Best in Show at the Savannah Film Festival and is distributed on Revry. Most recently, David served as Executive Producer on the Jesse Eisenberg/Riley Keough led film Sasquatch Sunset which premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. David is based in South Pasadena, CA and loves spending time at home with his amazing partner, blind Yorkie, and tormenting cat.
Robert Cutchens
Partner - Executive Producer
Robert manages the finance and business operations at Nancy Boy. Born in Dothan, AL, Robert was raised a “military brat” living in the U.S., the Philippines and England while growing up. Returning to the U.S. in 1991, he made his home in Iowa where he met his future wife and they moved to Des Moines to attend college, pursue their careers and raise their family. Robert is an entrepreneur and investor with 30 years experience in information technology and project management. He has worked extensively with teams to develop and implement technology and software solutions within a variety of budgetary structures. Robert is an avid film-lover and is passionate about supporting independent filmmakers and artists.
